This ancient Berber carpet is an authentic and unique piece, hand-made in the tradition of Moroccan Boucherouite weaving. The runner rug features stunning oriental symbols and vibrant blue, violet, and red patterns. The materials used include recycled rag strips and yarns from various found textile remnants, including wool, cotton, and synthetic fibers.
Thanks to its thickness, the rug is very comfortable and cozy. It features bright, bold colors and offers magnificent shades that sublimate your interior decoration. The orange part is not a dirty mark, it may have been, but it is part of the rug. I think that is its little feature. I love that kind of imperfections that tell us a story.
Because of its dimensions and proportions, the carpet can easily fit in an entrance, a corridor, or a hallway.
Why I love it:
it is a traditional Berber rural rug that used to be found in the countryside. Even if it wasn’t a precious rug, it has become a real piece of art that testifies to the creativity of the Berber people. Did the woman who wove it a few decades ago imagine that her carpet could be adopted thousands of miles away one day?
Dimensions: About 3×6 feet, 86×200 cm
Handmade carpets are never entirely straight and may have slight imperfections that add value and tell their stories.
