A unique design and small size, ideal above bars, kitchen islands, and bedside tables. They offer a subdued light.
It is made in a strong, resistant, and environmentally friendly Moroccan seagrass called doum. Pretty strands of straw fall in a messy, thick fringe at the bottom of the fixture, making this small lampshade so special and unique.
Our versatile hanging lampshade offers endless possibilities for lighting design. Whether you choose to display it alone or in groups, clusters, or lines, this lampshade is the perfect addition above a breakfast bar, kitchen island, or dining table. The downward-directed light creates a focused and intimate ambiance, while the tight braiding and lush fringes contribute to a soft and diffused lighting effect.
Why I love it:
The braiding and the shape make me think of a beehive.
Dimensions: about h7x8 inches, h18x20 cm
This suspension is handcrafted and unique. It may have certain irregularities that make it so charming. There may be slight variations in shape, size, or color depending on the condition of the material. The color is sometimes green when the material is young and becomes increasingly yellow or tanned with time and sunshine.
* To accelerate the yellowing of the fiber, leave the suspension in the sun for a few days.
* The fiber of alfa, the Mediterranean grass used to make these luminaires, is malleable. If it has been folded during transport and keeps its shape due to transport, let it sit on the ground for a few hours until it returns to its standard form. If not, you can spray it lightly and help it with weights or templates.
Electric cable is not included; you can pass the electric wire in the opening. I usually tie a nice string (hempy strings fit perfectly) from the ceiling to the shade handle to assemble the fixture. The line length depends on the distance you want your lamp off the top.
