Exquisite Arabic Calligraphy on Wood.
This piece is a notarial contract dating from the beginning or middle of the 20th century. In a time and a region where paper was almost nonexistent, agreements were made on wooden boards. The planks are handwritten in this lovely and poetic Arabic script.
Ethnic Tuareg Art
Old pieces like this one are true works of popular art. They are witnesses of the nomadic past of the Sahrawis and Tuaregs, people of the Sahara.
The unique ornament allows you to create a unique and distinctive look that reflects the cultural heritage of the people who originated it. The artifact adds ethnic hints to your home decoration, an invitation to travel through time and space; it will give authenticity and originality on a shelf, in your library, a headboard, or a cabinet.
Why I love it:
Arabic is a poetic, beautiful, and enigmatic “dancing script,”. This wooden board is a masterpiece of primitive art.
Mounted on a custom-made metal base, felt finish on the bottom
Dimensions: approx. 11x2xh6 in — 28x5xh15 cm
