African Baoulé Throws

This traditional wrapper bears the name of the Baoulé tribe, an ethnic group from the Ivory Coast. The cotton yarn is dyed in blue (using the ikat method), handwoven into narrow strips, and stitched together into a whole rectangular cloth (like an African mudcloth).

African fabric to turn into unique creative models

The textiles end with bangs at both ends. Dyed in different shades of indigo blue, highlighted with colorful stripes, they are easy to turn into beach towels, throws, picnic blankets or bed covers, chair covers, stoles, wall hangings, or table cloths. Or you can use them to make curtains and cushions or clothes and accessories. Let your creativity speak!

Why I love them:

Afrochic is a French word, but it is understandable in English and… I can’t find a better word to describe them!

Dimensions: about 39’x55′ —- 100×140 cm

The Baoulé throws are artisanal products; they may have certain imperfections or variations that make them unique and guarantee their authenticity.
