This traditional wrapper bears the name of the Baoul\u00e9 tribe, an ethnic group from the Ivory Coast. The cotton yarn is dyed in blue (using the ikat method), handwoven into narrow strips, and stitched together into a whole rectangular cloth (like an African mudcloth).<\/p>\n
The textiles end with bangs at both ends. Dyed in different shades of indigo blue, highlighted with colorful stripes, they are easy to turn into beach towels, throws, picnic blankets or bed covers, chair covers, stoles, wall hangings, or table cloths.
